A place to hang and express my feelings to family and friends and perhaps a little humor and wisdom along the way.

Inconsistency
I don't know what happened or if this will be a repeat. But I was posting about how dark it is this morning and how crisp the air is. How we used to pick apples and make fresh apple pie, while there were still local apple orchards in the area. How these little routine things were part of what made our life consistent. How consistency can be good, and though change is good routine can give you the freedom of choices you would not always make if you were always running to put out the next fire. I have always tried to be a "constant" in the lives of the children and grownups around me. Sometimes I failed but it was important for me to try. There is enough inconsistency in life, let love and friendship for those around you be the one thing that is there for others, and for yourself.

sleep tight tonight my friends, put bad or difficult thoughts to an end
Lay your head on the pillow and become a child one more time and ask God to
lead you in a nursery rhyme. Think loving thoughts as you close your eyes, I always picture myself surrounded in Gods protective arms or his angels by my side. And if he chooses to take me tonight.. I will welcome His presence and say amen but until that time I just ask a pray Please God, get me through another day, give me th tools, and the skills, and the patience I will need for today. Help me to not focus on me but focus on you and what you would like m to do.That extra smile to someone, a compliment and loving phone call. Thank about this in the day to come. We can all live in His presence and practice in it too. Goodnight, Namaste, and may God be with you all:) Peace and Love Lana

wed morning start the day right
No sugar for me today, fasting glucose blood tests...really hold you accountable because you don't want that number to go above a certain range..because then it changes your life again. It is a constant struggle, workout, eat, not too much, exercise till you drop....doesn't work that way....even keels would be nice..nice even keels...
Diabetes what did it ever have to do with my life for so many years..it was "out there", well now it is very present here everyday. So I must embrace it and learn to work with it so we can work as one to keep my body healed. It is no longer the enemy but my companion to hold me accountable to my health.

What do you miss from the 60's?
I miss the original turkey dinner from Swanson with mash potatoes, cranberry sauce, little piece of chocolate fudge and turkey and stuffing...probably was 5,000 milligrams of salt and 200 grams of fat but on a cold night in front of the tv watching Ed Sullivan..oh yum!
